Hearing loss can present in various forms, each impacting communication and quality of life differently. Sensorineural hearing loss is the most common type, resulting from damage to the inner ear or auditory nerve. This type affects the clarity of sound and speech comprehension. Conductive hearing loss occurs when there is an issue with sound transmission through the outer or middle ear, which may be due to blockages, fluid, or structural problems. Mixed hearing loss combines elements of both sensorineural and conductive issues, making it essential to have a thorough evaluation to understand the extent and nature of your hearing needs.
Hearing aids are designed to amplify sounds and improve hearing by using advanced digital technology. They consist of a microphone that picks up sounds, an amplifier that processes and adjusts the sound, and a speaker that delivers the sound directly to the ear. Modern hearing aids are equipped with features such as noise reduction, directional microphones, and connectivity options, allowing seamless integration with mobile devices. These advancements ensure that users can enjoy clear and customised sound, enhancing communication in various listening environments.
Choosing the right hearing aid depends on lifestyle, hearing loss type, and personal preferences. Behind-the-Ear (BTE) devices sit comfortably behind the ear and are suitable for all types of hearing loss. Receiver-in-Canal (RIC) models offer a more discreet option, blending performance with subtlety. In-the-Ear (ITE) and In-the-Canal (ITC) devices are custom-moulded to fit the shape of the ear, providing a more personalised and often less noticeable option. Completely-in-Canal (CIC) and Invisible-in-Canal (IIC) hearing aids offer maximum discretion, sitting deeper in the ear canal and being almost invisible to others. Finally Earbuds that provide high-performance hearing enhancement in a premium earbud – complete with hands-free calling and streaming.
At AudioCare, we believe that the fitting process is as important as the device itself. Our comprehensive approach begins with a detailed hearing assessment to determine the most suitable type of hearing aid for you. A demonstration device is programmed based on your audiometric results, allowing you to experience real-time improvements in your hearing. We ensure you understand how the hearing aid integrates with your mobile phone, enabling features such as call handling, volume adjustments, and app-based controls for optimal convenience.
You will be informed that a trial period of 15 days is available, during which you can use the hearing aid in your daily life. This trial allows you to fully experience its benefits and identify any adjustments that may be needed. After one week, you’ll return to AudioCare to share your feedback, where our audiologists will make necessary adjustments or suggest an upgrade to a higher-performance model if needed.
At the end of the trial period, you can decide whether to purchase or return the hearing aid. If you choose to return it, only the cost of the initial assessments will be charged. Should you decide to keep the device, we will provide a thorough explanation of its functions and schedule a follow-up to monitor your progress. Continuous support is key — our first follow-up occurs after 30 days, with subsequent check-ups every three months to ensure your hearing aid is performing at its best.

Initial Consultation
At first, an anamnesis is carried out by a health professional with the patient, which is intended to be an initial point in the diagnosis.
Diagnosis
Primary and complementary tests are carried out to diagnose the type of hearing loss that will explain why it is difficult to hear.
Recommendation
According to the results of these tests, if hearing loss is proven, a hearing aid will be recommended, which may vary in type and model.
Professional Advice
Hearing function is assessed using numerous subjective and objective tests that provide information on the patient's peripheral and central hearing.
